Does anyone out there know where I can find 10 1oz balls of 3-ply baby wool in cream, rather than brilliant white? The pattern, for a baby shawl, must be nearly forty years old, but it's the best! Viv Dudman

Have a look at the Stylecraft Wondersoft range, I know they do white, blue, green, pink, not sure about cream but it's worth a look. PK

This is a bit late but Adriafil do a lovely pure wool 3ply in 25 gram balls. It is called dolcezza baby and is the softest yarn imaginable.Made in Italy, it comes in a wonderful range of colours beside the basic baby pastels.I bought it from an Ebay shop, but am sure if you googled it, there would be other suppliers.I have a 2nd world war knitting book and some of the patterns for babies are just as good today.I find it soothing to sometimes drop the 4 and 4.5mm needles and use the old 12,s and 13,s.

Hi, have you found your wool yet. I knit a lot of 40s styles in pure wool. A 100% wool in white will come up a creamy white as opposed to brilliant white. Patons Fairytale Dreamtime is one of the best. An actual cream may be too dark. Good luck
