Has anybody used stylecraft chunky before, is it nice to knit with and does it wash well

don't know how it washes, I have never knitted up what I have. Its called Special Chunky but I didn't like the feel or look of it knitted up. I have had it for ages now and can't remember how much I paid for it but it will probably end up as hats and scarves when I get round to it. It also depends on what you are going to knit. I wouldn't use it for something large or complicated. There are some great bargains on Kemps clearance wools in chunky at the moment. In fact, I am about to order some. Hope this helps. Janey

Thanks Janey, Thats pretty much what I wanted to know, if it doesn't feel nice then I will chose a better yarn. Thanks again for your help

Stylecreft Life chunky is lovely. It's the one with wool in it. It washes & wears really well, far nicer than Sirdar Click in my opinoin.
