I've read bad reports about it on Ravelry, but have a pattern that I'd really like to make. Can anyone suggest a suitable alternative, please?

Hi, ive knitted with freedom spirit, i love it, you do have to be carefull not to pull the wool too hard when knitting and i stick with freedom spirit patterns. try a tension sqare, or what i do is compare yardage on the wool im knitting with and the one sugested in pattern, or ring kemps they are realy helpfull.
