In the 1970s (!) I knitted an adult shawl in Patons Fiona. I found this shawl the other day, during a sort out, and it is still useable! However, I would like to knit it again in a different colour (and different yarn, because sadly Fiona is no more). Does anyone know where I can get a copy? It has an all over pattern made using psso and m1 alternately, a fringe and I think it starts by casting on 300+ stitches and gradually decreasing to 3. Thanks for any help.

My searches have failed to find the pattern, but someone is selling 7 balls of wool on ebay! It's supposed to be DK. Maybe a search for DK shawl might come up witj something similar. Janine

Hi Sally, try lion yarns website, they have loads of free patterns, and shawls seem to be popular with american knitters. Word of caution though, you will need to substitute the yarn or buy online.

Hi Sally,
Just read your original post. You could try typing Patons in. I have joined the Patons website (its free) where there are endless patterns all free for downloading some of which include shawls. You can also add any patterns you like to "My Hive" where they are stored for future use for you. It is American though and the wools/yarns are a minefield as they don't use our terminology and are not available here. Still, it's worth a look as you may find just what you want. Hope this helps.
