Maybe you can guage the thickness of the wool by the size of needles required for the pattern. What size does it say?

Hi Susie,
The pattern says size 5mm.
To knit the Jacket with the the Debbie Bliss yarn it would cost about £55.00.

Hope the other Susie doesn't mind me jumping in on this one. It seems that the Debbie Bliss yarn is probably an aran weight. If you look at the tension details and compare them with the tension given on the ball band of a good quality aran, this should tell you.

Im going to Oxford Street John Lewis next week to have a look at this wool. I think your right about it being aran. Thanks for your reply it has pushed me in the right direction
