I've seen some nice patterns in Sirdars ocean range, but when I add it all up, it will cost me quite a lot to knit. Does anyone know , or can suggest, what "ply" or other cheaper wool range, that the patterns can be knitted in ?

For this wool you use 6mm needles which suggest that the wool is thick. It could well be between DK and /AranChunky wool. It would come under the fashion yarn section. Hmmmmmmmm. Bee

It has cotton in it so maybe any patterns that use wool with otton. Sirdar do a lovely cotton coleection. Let me know what you do decide. Bee

Hi, I noticed someone was asking about ocean a few months ago, i hope they have noticed that has been reduced from £2.49 to £1.50. Quite a saving. Linda

Hi just finished knitting Ocean pattern 8868 and the end result is gorgeous. I have to say I didn't enjoy knitting with Ocean wool, I found it difficult to work with perhaps because I'm still fairly new to knitting. I would really like to try the pattern in another wool, so if anyone can suggest an alternative?
